This knock out one bedroom dual level Loft Apartment, sleeping up to 4, is located in the heart of Degraves Street which is well known for its coffee culture and old world charm. The Apartment is located on the 3rd level of the refurbished Mutual Store Building on the corner of Flinders Street and Degraves Street.

Warehouse Loft Living’s unique feature is the elegant spiral staircase leading to the lofts large timber floor bedroom with King size bed, which can also be separated into two singles. It has a double mirrored built-in robe, and study nook area. Put your feet up on the chaise lounge to while away the hours absorbed in your favourite novel or travel magazine. It's approximately 61 sqm's on level one and approximately 40 sqm's on level two.

Venture back downstairs to the open plan living and dining area with high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows. In the living room, the sofa opens up to be a double sofa bed and there is an air conditioning unit to keep you comfortable all year round with a heating and cooling mode. Looking for something to do in your downtime? We have Foxtel and Free Wi-Fi available. The windows are double glazed, isolating you from any outside noise – you won’t believe you are in the middle of the buzzing Melbourne metropolis.

The modern kitchen is well set up with stainless steel Blanco appliances including stove, oven, dishwasher and fridge plus a coffee machine. The spacious tiled bathroom with shower and toilet also contains a washing machine, iron and ironing board. Great for longer stays!

You are at the doorstep of a mecca of transport options and attractions, there is no better place to stay and play. There are several parking spaces in the building available at $30 per day but these are subject to availability - no guarantees can be given. There are also several Paid Public Car parks within walking distance.

Security pass lift access to the 3rd floor. No need to climb any stairs in the building. Please note the bedroom in the apartment is accessible via stairs only with rubber grip.

Key Delivery Service 
We employ an external key delivery service to meet you with your keys on your day of arrival. The key handover time is to be booked directly with them at least 48 hours prior to your check-in. This service is included in your booking and covers arrivals between 3:00 pm - 10:00 pm. If you are arriving between 10:00pm - 12:00am, an additional after-hours fee of $40 will apply. Arrivals after 12:00am will incur an additional $100 after hours fee. 


Cleaning Service
Staying 7+ nights? Interim housekeeping services which include a changeover of linen can be arranged on your request. They are available at a rate of $90 AUD per service and depending on what would make your stay more comfortable, they can be arranged weekly or fortnightly.

Security Deposit and Guest Information
Please note we will deduct $500 from your credit card 10 days prior to your arrival. This will then be returned upon inspection of the property after your departure. 
If we need to make a claim against your security deposit it covers an amount up to $1000, which may include but is not limited to the following: Excess cleaning fees, Excess laundering fees (inc. sleeping directly on to doonas, pillows, mattresses), Dirty BBQ, Excess garbage removal, Damage or breakages at the property, Loss of keys or scanners and Late check-out. Our rates are based on twin share. Fees will apply for excess guests not agreed in advance. Please include all adults and children in your enquiry. If you have babies please advise their ages also.

Please note guests under the age of 24 must travel with a guest of 24 years of age or older. Guests are required to be at least 24 years of age to stay in our property on their own. Unless prior approval is given, guests not conforming to this policy, will result in Rejuvenate Stays denying access to the property and no refunds will be provided. We are happy to consider making exceptions so please contact us if you don't fall within our age restrictions but would love to stay.

History of the Building

Melbourne's first department store, the large Mutual Store emporium was located on the corner of Flinders and Degraves streets. The company, established as a profit-sharing co-operative between shareholders and staff, was incorporated in 1872 but suffered a significant setback when fire destroyed the original building in 1891. Architects Reed, Smart & Tappin, who had designed the Melbourne Town Hall and the Royal Exhibition Building, designed a new building in the Mannerist style on the same site.

Despite the interruption, the company thrived and within a year of rebuilding, its range of products filled a catalogue of over 40 pages. After being home for almost 40 years to the Council of Adult Education, the building was converted into apartments. The Mutual Stores Ltd collection is held at the University of Melbourne Archives.


Construction in Melbourne CBD - Metro Tunnel Works

Works are underway to deliver two new underground stations in Melbourne's CBD at each end of Swanston Street. As a part of this project, there are various changes to pedestrian access, roads and existing transport options.

From September 1st 2019, eastbound lanes on Flinders Street are closed between Elizabeth and Swanston streets until 2022 as part of these works.

We stayed for six nights while in Melbourne for the AO tennis and to attend the Elton John concert. The apartment was just perfect for us in so many ways. The location is brilliant with everything on your doorstep and close walking distance to all the essential places in the CBD. The apartment was very clean elegantly simple yet funky and so practical. It had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. I would not hesitate to recommend it and look forward to staying again in the future.

Such a great location, particularly for food, night life and shopping. We travelled as a family of 4 with kids aged 6 and 1 years old. The apartment was adequate in size and communication with the host exceptional. They were very kind to allow us a later check-out after finding out our flight home was delayed.
